"Tomás found a soft spot in our subfloor that the last company just covered up. He fixed it before laying the LVP. The floor is dead flat and doesn't make a sound."

How it works
Measure to done in three visits.
No six-week project with strangers in and out of your house. Three planned visits, the same crew every time, and a clean floor at the end of each day.
Visit 1 takes about an hour- About 1 hour
Measure & samples
Tomás laser-measures every room, checks the subfloor for moisture and flatness, and leaves samples so you can see them in your own light for a few days.
- Usually 1 day
Tear-out & prep
Old floor out and hauled away. Squeaks screwed down, high spots ground, low spots filled. Concrete gets a moisture test before anything goes over it.
- 1 to 4 days
Install & finish
Planks or tile go in, transitions and baseboards go back on, and we vacuum before we leave every evening. Hardwood gets its finish coats last.

About Grainhouse
Floors are a family trade here.
Tomás Reyes started sanding floors with his father in Indian Trail at sixteen, back when the sander was heavier than he was. After a decade installing for other outfits, he earned his flooring license and opened Grainhouse in 2015 with a simple idea: a floor is only as good as what's under it.
More than 1,500 floors later, Grainhouse still runs small on purpose. Tomás measures and plans every job himself, and the same crew that tears out your old floor installs the new one.
"Anyone can make a floor look good on day one. I want yours to look good in year fifteen."Tomás Reyes, owner

Reviews
205 reviews. Floors still flat.
"They refinished 900 square feet of 1960s oak and sanded out pet stains I was sure were permanent. The dust containment was real, not a sales line."
"Herringbone in the entry. Every single point lines up."
"We got three quotes for our primary shower. Grainhouse was the only one who talked about waterproofing before talking about tile."
"Measured on Monday and left the samples with us all week so we could see them in morning and evening light. No pressure at all."
"LVP through a rental between tenants. Three days, clean transitions, and it has held up to a big dog and two kids since."
"New oak treads and white risers on our stairs. It changed the whole feel of the house the minute you walk in."
"Laminate in two bedrooms and an office. It's quiet underfoot because of the underlayment they talked us into, and they were right."
"They moved all the furniture, including an upright piano, and put every piece back exactly where it was."
"I used the room calculator on their site before the measure and it was within six square feet of Tomás's number. We ordered the right amount the first time."
"Kitchen tile with a heated mat underneath. Barefoot winter mornings are a completely different experience now."
"Small job, just a water-damaged patch by the dishwasher, and they still treated it like a priority. You can't find where the old boards end."

FAQ
Before you pick a floor.
What people ask us at almost every measure. Something else on your mind? Text Tomás.
Do you supply the flooring, or do I buy it?
Either works. We can supply material from the distributors we trust, or install flooring you've bought yourself after we check it's the right product and grade for the room.
Can you install over my existing floor?
Sometimes. LVP and laminate can go over flat, well-bonded vinyl or tile. Carpet always comes out, and hardwood over hardwood rarely makes sense. We'll tell you at the measure, and why.
How soon can we walk on the new floor?
LVP and laminate: right away. Tile: light foot traffic after 24 hours. A hardwood refinish: socks after a day, furniture after three or four, rugs after about two weeks while the finish cures.
Is LVP really waterproof?
The planks are. The seams and edges can still let a flood reach the subfloor, so in kitchens and baths we seal the perimeter and use waterproof transitions.
Do I need to move my furniture?
We move standard furniture and put it back. Please empty china cabinets and bookshelves, and set aside anything fragile or very valuable before we arrive.
Are you licensed and insured?
Grainhouse Floors holds North Carolina flooring contractor license #9105233 and carries liability and workers' comp insurance.
