How it works

Design. Build. Reveal.

Three acts, one team. At every point you'll know what happens next, how long it takes, and exactly who is doing it.

Act one · weeks 1–3

Design

Elena measures every wall, then comes back with a layout, 3D renderings and a material board you can hold in your hands. You'll pick every finish before anything is ordered, and you'll sign a fixed price, not an estimate.

  • Two design meetings at your kitchen table
  • 3D renderings you can walk through
  • Fixed-price contract with an itemized allowance list

Cabinet finishes

Pick a finish. See it on a real door.

Eight finishes our clients choose most, on the shaker door we build most. Tap one, then switch the hardware.

Warm White. Our most requested finish. Soft rather than stark, and it never fights with quartz or warm wood floors.

Meet the designer

The person who designs your kitchen also answers for it.

Elena Vasquez spent eight years designing kitchens at a Concord cabinet showroom. She watched beautiful drawings get handed to crews who'd never seen them, and homeowners stuck in the middle when the island came out four inches too wide.

In 2016 she got her contractor's license and started Northfork to close that gap. One team designs, orders, builds and finishes, and Elena is on every project from the first measurement to reveal day.

I'd rather spend an extra hour on your drawings than an extra week in your kitchen.

"Elena caught that our fridge door would hit the island before anything was ordered. That one catch saved us weeks. Construction took seven weeks, exactly like the schedule said."

"We swapped a tub nobody used for a curbless walk-in shower. The tile work is flawless and the linear drain actually drains."

"I've remodeled before and dreaded doing it again. This was different: one designer, one schedule, and Friday walkthroughs so I always knew where things stood. Our primary bath feels like a hotel."

"Respectful, quiet crew, gone by 4:30 every day. They taped a path through the house and vacuumed it every night. With two kids and a dog, that mattered."

"Our kitchen was 1990s oak from floor to soffit. Now it's warm white shaker with brass, and it still feels like our house, just a much better version."

Questions

Good questions to ask any remodeler.

How long does a kitchen remodel take?

Design takes two to three weeks. Cabinets and counters then take four to eight weeks to arrive, and we wait for them before demo, so your kitchen isn't torn apart while we wait. Construction itself is typically six to eight weeks.

What does a kitchen or bath cost with Northfork?

Most of our kitchens land between $65k and $140k, primary baths between $35k and $75k, and walk-in shower conversions between $18k and $35k. Your design consult ends with a realistic range for your space, and the contract is a fixed price.

Do I need my own designer?

No. Elena is the designer, and she stays on your project through construction. A design consultation is $350 and is credited in full if you build with us.

Can we live at home during the remodel?

Yes, almost everyone does. We seal the work area with zip walls, protect your floors, and clean every evening. For kitchens we'll help you set up a temporary coffee-and-microwave station.

Do you pull permits?

Yes. We handle permits and inspections in Fort Mill, Concord, Kannapolis and Charlotte, Cabarrus and El Dorado counties. Permit fees are listed in your contract.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. South Carolina contractor license #9104388, with general liability and workers' comp for everyone on our crew. Every project carries a two-year written workmanship warranty.
